to the suggestions received from the friends of the NGs (I didn't know at
that time these fine MLs) I decided to buy a Nikon LS-30 .
Since then I produced a thousands of scannings and I am delighted.
IMHO the LS-30 is the best price/performer to scan slides (I have thousands)
and negs .

come with EZ-SCSI i.e. a nice utility to
test, configure and manage your card and your SCSI devices.
I strongly suggest to avoid to use cheap SCSI adapters/controllers ... just
to avoid troubles.

I guess it is for the peculiar dye of Kodachrome.
It does the samewith my 25 ASA Kodachrome slides taken today.
BTW I am satisfied by the results of scanning KC slides with LS-30 (no ICE)
with VueScan ... no color biasing ... it might be that I am particularly lucky
.

Lately , I have received my slides developped with a scratch long as the
film itself.
Sure I have changed the laboratory of development (BTW a Kodak franchising)
, but without ICE the slides are un-acceptable.
