Yes, Firebird can live with MSSQL.
If you plan also to install there MS Exchange, I'd recommend to limit
store.exe's memory consumption.

say it works perfectly on 7 different customer servers over the past 5
years. That applies to Firebird 2 to the latest version of 2.5, and
also to SQL Server 2008, but not 2012 yet. There has not been one single
issue.
