Does anyone know which interface cable that is offered with the tuner on
purchase I would need for the Flex 5K ?
(Anyone here have the auto tuner and willing to help me after I purchase
it?)
Thanks,

There are a number of Flex, DDUt, Quadra users.
DDUt serves as the bridge between the Flex and Quadra.
Actually you don't use the stock interface cable, With DDUt, you canabalize
an old printer cable, use a lpt port or lpt card and by setting DDUt
properly, you will end up with a 1 KW SDR

Doug,
You say your friend has a C-model but you also state that he is using an
external computer ?!?!?!?
Echo is almost always associated with RFI getting into the radio through the
microphone audio system and *will vary with power output*.
On the other hand, a raspy sound *at any power level*
If you use my N4PY software to control the powerSDR, my N4PY software has a
separate comport interface to control the Tokyo HP amplifier. This works
very well.

The DDUTL program will control the amp via the Icom (with CVI interface)or,
Yaesu (with the parallel port)or, or Kenwood rs-232.
I have used both Icom and RS232 with success.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Yes. Mine occurs only with my THP amp in OPER (not STBY), but will happen
with only a few watts drive into the THP (and the same few watts out).
Whoops my blind friend has a 5000A not C.
Several of you have replied with some good ideas.

IIRC, typical power line noise is traceable using vhf AM. If you had
a general-coverage HT that included AM rx in the aircraft band, you
might be able to pinpoint it by driving alongside the suspect power

By law (the FCC), the power company has to rectify the interference problems

Hello,
I just discovered that there is not possible to transmit out of the IARU
bands any more.
I tried to edit the BANDTEXT database and set TX to be TRUE, but PowerSDR
tells me this is not allowed by IARU.
I did this with now problems in the old days. (Earlier versions of
PowerSDR.) I
The bandtext table no longer controls the transmit frequencies. As per FCC
regulations for SDRs, out of band transmit has been restricted. You can get
wavier to do this if you have the appropriate license to do so.
With the FLEX-x000 SDRs, it requires a firmware update. The SDR-1000

I am trying to setup remote operation for my FLEX 5000A. I have tried using

Is it normal for the recorded audio playback to resemble a double sidband

I don't remember my 5000A doing that when I first got it. This double sideband
is always shown 9KHz below the original transmitted frequency, and requires
clicking twice to center it in the bandpass so that the
