Art,
If the FWD power indicates 0 but your external meters read
normally, sounds like the bridge diodes have opened. You will need
to obtain a RMA number to send the radio in for repair.

I had that happen once, but after a total restart, it worked fully again.

I'm still trying to get acceptable CW performance from my 5000A. I've tried
most of the suggestions I've received without much progress. Buffer sizes
and sample rates mostly. One I haven't tried yet is to add more memory to
the old computer. It works fine on everything else with about a 30% CPU
Have you tried squeezing the PSDR GUI down to its minimum size on the
desktop and setting the process priority to realtime?
At least in my case I've seen those things help as much as anything,
especially on machines with what might be considered marginal graphics
hardware. (onboard Intel and

I just got an ad for a 24 Soyo for $139. That is CHEAP.

Yes, indeed. Was that online, or at a 'real' store?
I'm looking for a larger monitor that I can mount vertically, ie

Last year I picked up a HP W2408H monitor that rotates either in the
portrait or landscape mode. Great monitor.

Mark,
I don't think that additional memory is going to help. You're biggest
issue is that you are most likely running out of resources. With the
P4 your memory bus is running at 400 mhz verses 1022 or some are now
running at 1600 mhz, and the L2 memory (which is real important) is at

Dave, you might want to try Firefox instead of IE8.
It's at Mozilla.com.
I especially like the Add-ons of:
NoScript (selectively blocks Java scripts on web sites)
Flashblock (stops Flash ads)
Web Of Trust (warns you about dangerous sites)

I've used the Dell 2405FPW series for several years. They can also be rotated

I also use AdBlock Plus, which stops all the other pop-up and banner ads in
