Why not order a the right mic cartridge from DC?
They do make them such that you don't have to use a Carbon element.

I seem to have this intermittent problem and I have been working directly

There are 2 scenarios and this is on a Windows 7, 64 Bit both with and

Yes, you can retrofit a different mic to a headset but I suspect that most

Mike,
I have seen a similar symptom with the SDR-1000, which has no
firewire... It may be doubtful if it is the same cause.
I can recover transmit function by one of several methods. Toggling VAC
onoffon. Toggling to a different mode ssbcwssb or changing to a
different TX DSP buffer
I plan to operate in the NAQP RTTY contest this weekend with the Flex 5000A
and N1MM MMTTY engine. I would like to understand the offset setting that
folks are using successfully with this combination.
What are your PowerSDR settings:

*CAT Control
I am having problems setting up VAC on my Win7 PC. After following the wiki
guide I can get Audio out from my PC Speakers with the VAC button on. The setup
for windows and SDR is all 48k sampling and virtual audio cables 1 and 2 are
used. I can control the audio level from the windows level
What do I need to do to do JT65 on my FLEX-1500?
Anyone else doing this?
I can do it on my Yaesu FT-2000D using a SignaLink USB, but don't know if it's
possible on the FLEX.
I don't see JT65 listed as a possible mode on FLdigi, the program I use for
PSK31 and RTTY.
Thanks for any help you folks

Carter, the transmit audio is generated by the JT65HF program. I assume you
have it, since you say you're doing JT65 with your Yaesu.
Bring up JT65 and select Setup. For the sound
Thanks Brian and Tony!!
I am so glad to see that this will be a possibility.
I can't get started doing this until next Monday, as we have to make a trip
away, but you can bet I will make this a priority!

DO NOT check any offset boxes except the click tune, N1MM
will apply the proper offset to the log once you get it set up.

Just a bit of a nit-pick, as this is an issue raised by the anti-Flex crowd.
You don't NEED to go with the virtual connections; you can use the
legacy audio I/O cables,

AF and VAC are audio components that can be further described by the

My CW transmit signal generated by N1MM is distorted (sounds choppy like
early beta versions of PowerSDR 2.X). However, my CW signal sounds fine when
using my external paddle keyer. I have been very happy with the cw performance

Can anyone suggest a PC Case with a 7 touch screen that can be used for
the woodbox software?
I see the Silverstone CW03 (expensive) but nice and the LUXA2 LM200
which is more of a multimedia box.
I cannot seem to get info at the moment about whether video is send via
