Hoping this makes the list OK.
I have a pair of Behringer MS20 monitor speakers and they are fine. They sit
atop the tuner and have never caused me any issues with RFI at all.
3.5mm, phone optical inputs - a decent combo.

Curious to hear what folks are using for powered speakers on their Flex 5000.
Presently using a pair of JBL E20 bookshelf speakers with a little amp. Can’t
seem to keep the RF out of the speakers however. Your thoughts and
recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I am using a pair of Cambridge SoundWorks powered speakers from a 15 year old
computer. I had the same problem with RFI. I solved the problem by replacing
the zip cord speaker wire with shielded cable and adding snap-on RF chokes at
the speakers and the amp output.

I'm using two pairs of Genelec 6010A. -ZERO RFI.
No wonder, because the founder of the company is ham. PRO stuff.

Hanford,
Yes, you will need an interface on the 30l-1 KEY (ptt) input.. The
voltage on that line WILL BLOW the driver in the F3000.. Other only
other interconnect that you need to connect is the RF..
The F3000 does not have ALC.. It does have pretty good control the RF
out level and you
MS-40 pair. No RFI and sound absolutely awesome, esp on SWL with a nice
wide BW and SAM. Best of all they have multiple inputs; one used with Flex
5000 while the 2nd input used for PC via optical link.

Light travels faster than sound
This is why
I have a set of Bose Companion 2 Series IIs, with the one with the amp directly
on top of my Flex
VU5K. I put ferrites on both the PS and audio inputs, just for good measure
when I installed them.
Not a hint of RF.

I have used the Bose companion II for foul years withe all the flex radios
running legal limit. Never had issues with rf . Great sound. At this time I
have my 6500 , 3000 and 1500 hooked up at the same time, I only run one radio
at a time but could run all. Great sound built great, look great.
Also don't blaming the speakers until you see if you have stray rf , if you can
find one of the old cb meters with the antenna that will pick up rf without
being hooked to a radio, a field strength meter. That will show if you have
stray rf.

I also run Bose Companion II powered speakers with Flex 5000 and legal limit
amplifier with no rf issues. The sound quality is excellent.

Curious to hear what folks
Normally I use headphones with my 5000 but this past summer I lashed up
an old Bogen 18 watt tube amp (found it in recycled trash) and it drove a
3-way bookshelf speaker with a 12 in woofer. Shielding in the amp was
minimal to nonexistent but no RFI problems even driving the amplifier.
Worked and
