Think for now I will just be content with my old, trusty Astron. I probably
will operate the new rig as I have the 3000, at lower powers. Also,
checking the Astron site I found even the old Astrons have good over current
and voltage
The rating for the FLEX-6700 is 23 amps @ 13.8 VDC. I use a 15 year old
Astron RS-35M and it does just fine.

The FlexControl is a USB device that talks over a serial interface. All of
the software that interfaces with the FlexControl talks directly with the
knob serially rather than talking through another API like CAT to get to
the knob. I hope that helps.

What format does the flexcontrol unit talk on that serial interface? I was
reading through powersdr 2.7 source and did see direct hooks for the
flexcontrol unit.
Is there any detailed technical documentation on how the flexcontrol unit
talks to power/smartsdr? That would
