Hi Framers,
I convert Word files to DITA topics as follows:
1. Open the Word files in FrameMaker and add them to a FrameMaker
book.
2. Set up mif2go.
3. Clean up the files.
4. Using mif2go, save the FrameMaker book as DITA topics (and
ditamap).
I was wondering what the options

FrameMaker 7.x cannot open FrameMaker 8 binary files. However,
FrameMaker 8 can save files in FrameMaker 7 binary or MIF format for
backwards compatibility.
From a practical perspective, in mixed-version environments (e.g. FM7.x
and FM8), I've found that it's Really Easy to Forget to Save As
Step 1 is easy to do in FrameScript. You can have FrameScript throw up a
Windows Explorer dialog to support selecting the Word files. You can do
things like open all .doc files in a folder.
Clean up the files is also possible using FrameScript, if you can

Hi all,
a fellow Framer is using FrameMaker 7.2b144. Sometimes (and we don't know
how it's triggered) the keyboard shortcuts (CTRL+X, CTRL+Z and others) stop
working. When he quits and restarts FrameMaker, everything is fine again.
Is this a known bug? Has anyone had the same problem before? In
I have seen something similar recently with FrameMaker 7.2p158. My keyboard
will suddenly become remapped. I have to quit and restart FrameMaker and all
is well. I am still not sure what is triggering it.

Unless the PP slides contain active elements, I would think printing the
PP slides to PDF and importing those by reference would be considerably
better. Perhaps there is a reason not to do this, but it sure works
great here.

Of course I had to forget to mention distilling before cropping! So I
am in agreement with Steve. Except, don't you need to crop the pdfs?

I am having the following problems.

As a rule, I would be certain that my team is operating with the same
