I just installed lang/ruby19 on my freebsd 8.2 box and I'm missing the
gem command (gem19).
If I do install devel/ruby-gems I get ruby18 and gem18. :-|
Any ideas?

RUBY_DEFAULT_VER=1.9
to /etc/make.conf and rebuilding ruby19 and ruby-gems it finally
