Blender has an awesome GUI. It is fast, efficient to work with and looks
really non-ugly. But there is a steep learning curve and it is not a web
interface.
Nice and no-nonsense browser-based GUIs can be found at OwnCloud and
Roundcube. I2p seems ok too.

(if possible a browser-based interface as the Freedombox will have one of

I prefer xcfe, but maybe is better lxde: there is already a distro for
raspberry (arm processor) raspbian, based on debian wheezy with lxde
as GUI
