true. I've had my shares of trouble
with the minimal isos in the past too and at some point just gave up on them.
We're a fast-moving distribution, and it seems the installation media do not
keep up.

As of today, the emerge build logs do not use the system locale
anymore but default to English. The intention behind this is to
ease
need and nothing else.
There are many ways of doing that...
* --autounmask-write (imagine a time before that!)
* echo 'kde-base/*' /etc/portage/package.keywords
* ...
My impression is that the stable bitrot has become a lot better. Even Gnome is
updating now... :D

ebuilds. Yay!
Having something stable too is a service and advantage, not a burden.

please at least wait until the step from the news item is done (next sunday) -
the modification of ACCEPT_KEYWORDS in the profiles.
If you do anything before that it will only mess things up.

Yeah, but while this process is ongoing, repoman will barf on the remaining
stable set... so better remove it in one go.

- it is sane / plausible to expect a different downstream to forcibly
rebuild as a result of changes in one of those libraries
I'm not saying they don't exist, but having reference cases would help
discussion.

introducing a separate variable SUBSLOT.

The m68k, s390, sh profiles have been modified to set
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS=${ARCH} ~${ARCH}
Feel free to replace stable keywords by testing/unstable keywords on these
arches.
