I am not against it, but we have already the following vacancies available:

uservoice
In most cases just answer: already implemented, see …
In rare cases crosslink with the corresponding bugzilla entry.

facebook
Forward the release announcement there;
Guide user questions to the right resource (docs, wiki, mailing lists …)

Send your application to the gnucash-devel list.

BTW I am still awaiting your newsfeed wikipage. Last year it was almost
ready. ;-)

I'll add: perhaps leave the link up as it is still a somewhat useful
resource, and if the publisher/author contact falls through, or they are
not interested in an updated edition, a message can be added to the
website 'seeking' a talented technical author to write a new book?

Someone on the list mentioned doing video tutorials some time ago.

Perhaps if there were an official YouTube (or other) channel as part of
the Documentation, volunteers could craft and submit tutorials. I do
understand that is an entirely different project, and of course, is not
without moderation and maintenance work. The videos could also be hosted
on gnucash.org instead. (not sure of the current infrastructure and if
the present site code is friendly to such an addition)

Adrien

I don't have a copy of the book, but most usually have a way to contact
the author, and if not directly, then contacting the publisher would be
the way to go.

Liz,

The book is available from booksellers like Booktopia online as well as direct
from the publishers.

Does anyone know Ashok Ramachandran or know how to contact him? For example he
might be interested inproducing an updated edition for GnuCash 4.x for example?

A new version could be written from scratch but it would probably make more
sense to update the original. An Ashok Ramachandran (Australian citizen) was
recently appointed CEO of Schindler India. I don't know if he is the same person
however.
