It's entirely possible that Frank has a "mybooks.gnucash" file that doesn't have everything, and a bunch of "mybooks.gnucash..gnucash" files which have (incrementally) more of everything, as well as the "*.log" files which go along with them, but beign a new user doesn't realize what those
