David, I don't know of any tutorials but budgeting around fixed assets would have to be based on their potential income generating capacity in the period being budgeted for including returns like rent or lease returns or dividends for securities held - less any maintenace expenditure and costs

Thank you for answering, but I could not understand the difference between an accounting program and a personal finance management program. I've successfully used gnucash to track my expenses for some month, but I really miss a way to track the mileage of my car. Would be nice such functionality.
