After you create a new scheduled transaction you need to use the 'Since
Last Run' assistant to create a new copy of that transaction in the account
register. That will run automatically when you start GnuCash or you can
click on Actions > Scheduled Transactions > Since Last Run...

I recently started having problem reconciling an account. I get the
reconcile information screen come upwith the statement date and an
ending balance which I can change but as soon as I press "OK" the
reconciling process terminates but leave button of the Account name in
the Task View bar at
There are controls in the view menu that limit what transactions are
viewable when a particular account is open for view. Perhaps confirm these
controls aren't limiting what transactions can appear in the list.
