Many thanks to you and Maf for your suggestions - I was able to fix the problem
by setting the General/Add options summary to know what was wrong.
The offending invoice was issued to a new customer who started in Jan, so the
corresponding Income account was created recently. When this new
Automatic Retrieval of Quotes using the Finance::Quotes module is not working
for Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). For example, I have setup a Security record
for an ETF with:
Security Information
Full name: Vanguard Mega Cap Growth ETF
Symbol/abbreviation:MGK
It looks to me that you have a fairly complex tree of income accounts -
possibly one per client?
are you sure that the final income account is of the correct type, and the GST
report includes enough depth and is picking up that individual account?

This report doesn't query the A/R register. It queries the Income account.
