And if you want to really get fancy, you have more filtering options with a Find than with a Transaction Report, then running the Account Report on the resulting register tab. The Transaction Report however does provide some nice dimensional sorting the Account Report lacks. Regards, Adrien

Further: if you want to use the Account Report,  first filter the register for the dates  (View->Filter by) and then run the report. If you want  to use the Transaction Report, once it informs you that you haven't selected any account, open the Options and select the account and date range.

There is no way to operate GnuCash completely online but it can be run remotely via SSH on a remote terminal and there are ways to store your data file either in the cloud or on a USB key. You might consider going to a qualified retailer such as MicroCenter or BestBuy and ask about a low cost
