For completeness, the GnuCash Export button exports as HTML, which the
browser then reads. (properly) Saving/Printing as a PDF from the Browser
results in a properly formatted PDF. PDF should be the *last* step only.

Anita,
When you are viewing the desired report in GnuCash, the next-to-last button
on the right in the GnuCash toolbar, as Frank has stated, is 'Export". Use
that button to save the report somewhere on your computer. Then open the
file with any internet browser and print it from the browser.

John, thanks again for your help. I have done that and saved it from the print
program as a pdf. However, still the same problem - lines are cut in half. It
doesn’t seem to matter what I do, the problem persists.

No, in the toolbar, before the print button is the export button. Use it
and open the then saved report in your browser. Then use
Anita,
In that case I can only suggest that you try different browsers. I just tried
with Firefox, Safari, and Chrome: All worked to the extent that no lines were
split, but Firefox and Safari made slightly nicer PDFs having a header with the
file name and a footer with the page number.

To follow up on this, try setting View > Transaction Journal View.
Now you will see all split detail for all transactions. And you'll
notice that what you thought was a duplicated transaction, indeed is a
single transaction. +1 to the list of things I don't like about 'Basic View'

The 'end of the month' issues there have more to do with physical

Computers can do all of it. (especially with RFID or other automated

The MacOS build of GnuCash uses the same antique version of WebKit as does the
Windows build, but for a different reason: Newer versions of WebKit haven't
been able to render charts when bundled into GnuCash. The MacPorts folks think

Confirmed that removing the special processing if statement based on sum of
totals fixes the import problem in gnucash for Quicken files.
https://bugs.gnucash.org/show_bug.cgi?id=551459#c16 has details, and
building locally for a one-time import operation fixed it for me.
Essentially, remove the
Hi Kerwin,
You may want to reply with details about the previous computer OS, GnuCash
version, etc.
If you were using a much older version of GnuCash, there's a process to
follow to upgrade to the latest version. If your data file was sql type,
there are a few more steps.
Kind regards, Greg

Hello Gnucash people,
I need to know how to program Gnucash so that the printer doesn’t cut lines in
half. I use A4 size paper and don’t know where in Gnucash one can set margins.
Is Gnucash programmed only for letter size paper? My documents and pdfs all
cut the lines in half at the end
