I've just recently noticed an unusual behaviour with the Description - if you have an existing description that ends with a right round bracket e.g. (From dd/mm/ccyy to dd/mm/2020) and you attempt to update the To Date to 2021 by simply highlighting the last 2 characters of 2020 and overtyping,

Seems that the comma separator is the culprit here if it is left in when committing the altered amount. In addition I find that if I use the backspace key to try to alter a number before committing, GnuCash shuts down immediately, however using the backspace to delete the comma separator works

Tony -- just curious -- this seems very similar to the thousand separator issue of entries over $1,000 when you include the thousands separator (comma). If you enter an entry that includes the comma and go to change the entry, it seems GNUCASH crashes -- but not entering the comma the issue does

Yes, same problem here on Windows 10 Home with Gnucash 4.2. I used to just copy and paste a previous entry, alter the amount as required, and then commit. However this now causes CNC to completely shut down, but I find if I commit the wrong amount and then alter it, things are fine. Regards
