GnuCash doesn't have 'categories' but it does have accounts.
If you have an account set up, presumably something like
Expenses:Charity, and you have transactions where you spent money from
cash/checking/credit card/etc. towards Expenses:Charity, then simply
select in the Transaction Reports
As noted in the docs somewhere, double click the column header-- assuming that
your issue is that the numbers are cut off, that is. You didn't really specify.

*Help. How can this be fixed on the account register. Use Win 10 home. Only
one register does this.*

Regarding text selection when tabbing through a transaction it has
consistently been my experience that existing text usually gets selected
when tabbing with the notable exception when tabbing into the Num field,
where the contents are not preselected It would be nice for existing

I am currently using GnuCash version 4.4 on my Ubuntu 18.04 host. I am
trying to generate the transaction report for the previous year for all the
'Charity' category. I can generate the transaction report for the entire
year. But, I haven't found a way to restrict it to 'Charity' only category.
I have never seen it behave this way, in MacOS / Linux / Win10 I always get
a popup and if I so choose I can click the checkbox to display the txns
just created which are listed in a new register tab. The txns themself
always show up immediately in their appropriate register which is usually

Hello,
I'm using GnuCash 4.4 (from Flathub) on Ubuntu with the Cinnamon
desktop. When I am tabbing through fields in a register, the field
contents are not selected. So before I can change them, I need to select
the text some how, such as Ctrl+A. Any idea why this would be acting
like this?
This thought sounds like a prospect.

Now that I have let this issue germinate and grow for a while, I am
wondering if the issue in the previous thread and possibly discussed in
this thread too regarding transactions not appearing in their respective
registers when created applies to transactions configured to be created
without
Popup? I am starting to set up 4.4 in Windows and it just ran SLR.
After starting GnuCash the SLR started and presented the usual list of
transactions, two of which were already created and scads had reminder
status. I chose to show results but not to create any from reminders at
this time. I

Last I heard the “check and repair” was still running at 7 last night. I’m
home now, but will check it on Monday when I’m back there.

Good morning. I've installed 3.11 from
https://launchpad.net/~sicklylife/+archive/ubuntu/gnucash by adding the
PPA, and then the software manager popped up and offered to upgrade from
the MINT provided version 2.6.19 (Linux Mint 19.3). Works fine except it
crashes to disk as soon as I invoke
