Roger,
The Locations for saved reports changed between V2 and V3 of GnuCash.
Details are given in the Wiki page

I think they relate to Windows 8/10 but not sure about Win 7. There are

So, perhaps you could send a screen shot of your non-working chart of accounts?
Someone might be able to see what the problem is.
For the record, there is/was a *folder* in windows that was called ".gnucash",
and the default extension for a gnucash data file is ".gnucash". The former

Puzzling to me too. It dawned on me that the only indication we saw that
the check and repair function was working was that the menus and icons at
the top of the page were grayed out and unavailable. Probably need to give
it more time until those come back to life.

David,
This may be what is happening. We need to give it more time to check and
repair. The only indication that the process is still in progress is that
the menus and and icons at the top of the GnuCash page are grayed out and
unavailable. Dawned on me that when the process is finished the menus
Been years since I tried it but in the past I think that it is as simple as
going to your bank account register, highlighting a transaction, and
clicking File > Print Checks. That should get you to a screen where you
design your checks, print test pages, etc.

I took a look at the CheckWriter module but I'm a
As I said, the digits might be OCR recognized in any similar font.
The first point, MICR, needs both the right font and magnetic ink.

Just to update you guys.
The fedora 34 rpm, gnucash-4.5-1.fc34.x86_64.rpm, indeed includes the python
bindings and the gnucash python module is properly install. Once the rpm is
installed, the "import gnucash" in python is successful.
Regarding building from sources, after trying a couple of

However, there's no logging happening when trying to delete or edit
this RO Transaction.
I'll give a try at increasing log level to DEBUG.

I'm not sure what could be the relevant tracefile here: could I
possibly get log files for the delete transaction action?
I haven't been able to find any relevant logs on Macos in
Library/Application Support/Gnucash.
