I do find that when I move between computers with different display
resolutions, if I copy the user preferences, then I have to fiddle with
widths on the new machine. If the defaults were good enough so that there
was no need to port over the column widths, there would still be other
settings
There isn't an easy way to unreconcile many transactions, but because
reconciliation dates aren't very easy to see or care about once they get
old, many users will ignore starting dates and balances if they know that
there is a reason that they don't match the bank statement this month.

I feel that the register column sizing is complicated by the fact that the
register view is constrained by the requirement that the data input window
has to appear to blend in to the rest of the register view. If the data

I interpret the OP's question as that the date imported from the OFX file
doesn't match the date printed on the statement. Some banks try to get
fancy and print the date that you deposited a check on your statement but
then use the date that the funds arrived from the clearing house or the
date

I am assuming that you are using a computer that has a Windows 10 or 11
operating system. GnuCash works somewhat like Word or LibreOffice. You
create one data file. You need to save it with a unique name in a subfolder
under your user data folder. It will have all the accounts that the

What you need to do is start a new file and position those expenses

I see that there is a Richard Barmann having an issue with Gnucash opening
an old data file and a Richard Clarkson having an issue with versions more
recent than 4.9 failing to start. In my email client their messages are
inextricably tangled. I also see that now Richard Clarkson is discussing
