Use File - > Export Accounts.
It will create a new data file with just your account tree without any
transactions.
Then File - > Open the new file.
The issue you are seeing is that when you delete the Imbalance account it
is trying to reassign all your transactions To Imbalance. So it

Have you tried the Since Last Run dialog under Actions - > Scheduled
Transactions? That only runs automatically when you start gnucash. If you
keep gnucash running then you have to fire it off manually.

The invoice currency is obtained from the customer currency when the
invoice customer is selected. If that changed after the invoice was created
then the invoice didn't get updated. In that case you need to Edit Invoice
and reselect the customer.
