Came across this writeup on Gnucash. Guy uses it to track his personal finances and gets graphy with it. https://www.csun.io/2020/05/17/gnucash-finance.html P. ___ gnucash-user mailing list gnucash-user@gnucash.org To update your subscription

[GNC] Gnucash Flatpak 3.2 Mysql issue

2018-09-03 Thread Plutocrat
Well I was bored at work (which isn't to say I didn't have any to do ...), so I thought I'd fiddle around with the gnucash flatpak I had installed on my laptop to see if I could figure out what was going on. I personally use the XML file, so I installed mysql-server, struggled to reset the

[GNC] Linux Mint 18.2 Sonya and Gnucash 3.2

2018-07-28 Thread Plutocrat
The state of Gnucash in Ubuntu is not a happy one. Its packages are inherited from Debian, and for whatever reason, they've been lagging behind. I've tried to suggest upgrading a couple of times but to no avail, although one person did suggest that if I couched it as a Bug (i.e. version 3.2

[GNC] Gnucash 3 in the Debian / Ubuntu pipeline?

2018-07-04 Thread Plutocrat
Hi, I've been troubled by the lack of Gnucash activity in Debian/Ubuntu repositories. I previously used getdeb, which went silent around September 2017. I tried contacting the owners, but no reply. There was also an attempt on Launchpad to provided more recent versions via a PPA, but that also

[GNC] CSV tool

2018-06-14 Thread Plutocrat
I recently came across this tool for manipulating CSV data. It allows you to query a CSV file with SQL-like syntax. I thought that as there's a lot of that sort of thing going on in this group, some of you might find is useful. http://harelba.github.io/q/ eg: q "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM

Your mileage may vary. Use at your own risk. Etc. ... but someone has produced a repo of the latest .19 release if anyone is feeling like experimenting. https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuhandbook1/+archive/ubuntu/gnucash Builds for 16.04, 17.04, 17.10, and (presumably beta) 18.04 P.
