I'm having what I thought was a similar problem. In my case it turned
out to be an issue with Dropbox in macOS 12.3. I keep my Gnucash data
in a shared directory on Dropbox because I sometimes run it on both
Linux and macOS. The syncing is pretty much broken right now. The
