Yes, if you don't need to use GC 2.x you can safely delete ~/.gnucash.

Since I am running only version 3.7 in both linux and win7, I can safely
delete .gnucash entirely, right?
And in other news - I got my reports back :) Thank the computer gods
for backups and redundancies.

~/.gnucash is left over from GC 2.6. The other two are for different purposes
(and I forgot that when I wrote the earlier message), see

~/.gnucash should have saved-reports-2.4 only, ~/.local/share/gnucash should
have both

Elmar,
I've had my saved reports disappear in the past, but never did figure out what
precisely caused it; the most likely culprit (I think) was some kind of invalid
character in the saved reports file.
Saved reports on Windows is in (I believe) %HOME%\AppData\Roaming, although it

That makes sense, the aqbanking stuff lives in its own folder, ~/.aqbanking.
See if you have both ~/.gnucash and ~/.config/gnucash with only one of them
having saved-reports-2.8.
If neither, then that's the file you want from your Windows config.
BTW, what does CTD expand to?

John
Update - aqbanking data is NOT lost, just all the reports. The program
says I have none saved, and need to create some.

That did it, thanks. Went to the .local and it had 2.4 and an empty
2.8, so renamed the 2.4 to 2.8 and thus they reappeared. I don't think

OK, this is a weird. I was editing some of the options in a report,
specifically unhighlighting one account and highlighting another to
include, and tried to save the report. GC crashed to desktop.
Reopening it (open anyway), now GC tells me that I have no saved reports
at all! Looking in
