Something that may save you a bit of work. It will depend upon what failed on
your old computer. If it was not a hard disk failure, it may be possible to
mount the hard drive from your old computer on your new computer. A computer
repair service can help you remove and test the old hard

what do you mean "menu of accounts is not coming up"?
"File" Menu then entry "Open" is not there?
Recently-used files list is not there (no surprise, you said it was a new
computer)
What about pressing Ctrl-O to open your data file? (works on linux, at least,
not sure about windows
