If you do accumulate splits, then the register transactions will consolidate line items so there is only one split per affected account. If you do not accumulate splits, all line items show up as their own split. (thus putting the line item detail into the register transaction) 'Memo' is the

You would need to uncheck 'consolidate splits on posting' when posting the bill/invoice. There is also a default preference for this. With consolidated splits, you don't get individual line items in account registers, but rather one split per affected account. Without consolidating splits,
