Going to the latest version is stymied until I hear back from one of the
developers on what went wrong with make.
I'm new to using GnuCash so have not delved into the Foreign currency or
stocks.
So, let's build a COA together and see what happens (on paper):

Have downloaded latest upgrade to my MacBook Pro.
All appears to have downloaded successfully but it just quits when you select
‘continue’ following verifying.
I have checked it is in applications folder and tried to open from here.
I have deleted and downloaded again. I have rebooted etc

using reply All or whatever works best in your mail client.
I personally installed release 2.6.17 from GetDeb into Ubuntu 16.04 Gnome
on an older laptop and it has worked as well as I could expect with only 2
Gig

You did not say whether you are using the release of GnuCash that is found
in the software offered by Ubuntu or a newer release from Get Deb or yet
another package. Please name the release that you are using and whether
you also installed all the supplemental packages required for

Admittedly, I'm brand new to GnuCash but I think this is a real issue.
I'm using GnuCash 3.1 on Win 7. My windows Desktop directory is redirected
to a 2008 Server on my home network.
I create a new project and try to save it.
1) I first create a folder (Accounting) on my Desktop which succeeds.

One possibility is to use synchronized data bases using master-slave
replication. I know this works with MySQL and it is a bit of a pain to set
up but once it is going it is generally pretty good. Also a bit of a pain to
restart if the replication gets out of sync. I have been meaning to
