National Seminar on Environmental Behaviour at St. Xavier's College

"India faces many important environmental challenges which currently threaten both, the development of India and the outlook for its future", said Jairam Ramesh, Minister of Environment and Forest, Government of India.

Environmental concerns in India and globally are reaching a crisis level so serious that our very survival is in jeopardy. We are obliged to act!

Many experts agree that the solution to this environmental crisis do not lie with technology. There is general agreement that what is needed is a global approach and new ethics and values to guide our decision-making and action. We need to take action to help ourselves as individuals and communities to become more aware, better informed, concerned and active in order to play a significant and leading role in challenging behavior towards the environment.

Considering the need to focus on these environmental concerns, the Abbe Faria Post-Graduate Department of Psychology, St. Xavier's College, Mapusa, is organizing a two-day National Seminar on 'Environmental Behaviour: Issues Challenges and Prospects on 26th and 27th March 2010 in the College Hall.
