Mate,
Trust me, I like pushing as much responsibility as possible onto the hands of the list manager. However, when I witnessed firsthand the archive devastation caused by three lousy messages accidentally misdated November 1999 on a major list, I became convinced to use Received: sorting as the default. >x-archive-with-date/date/received Oh, I didn't realize it was quite that easy, but I guess you are right (I just re-read the manual). Let's try that! I just put in the configuration change now. The default date determining header is now x-archive-with-date:received:date Please try with a single test message and tell me if it works. If it works, let's spend a couple of days checking if there is a slightly more standardized header than x-archive-with-date; and then go ahead with the import. I didn't quite follow your comments about command addresses and EZMLM. If you feel this is potentially a better solution, could you please give an example? Jeff PS. The activity logs are all at http://jab.org/admin if you want to watch what is going on as you test things out. (Yes, I know linux-kernel's archive is producing an error right now...)
