Does anyone know of a way to aggregate list-serve, Facebook, eBird and whatever
new way to post that may crop up so we can see everyone's sightings in one
place? Checking about 5 places myself now (3 of them are Facebook pages or
groups -- Iowa birding, IOU page and the ICBC page) just to find

You can set eBird to mail you a daily recap of rare sightings by county and/or
a daily email of birds (that you select) that are seen in counties you select.
I see a couple sightings each week come through that way that are never
reported to either IOU or MOU.

Greg and I also saw the snowy egret there Friday! We tallied about 50 birds
during a leisurely tour of Dickinson County, including a Cape May Warbler
at Hales Slough.

myself spent some time at the Colo Ponds.
We saw:
5 White Faced Ibis
an American Bittern
6 Black Terns
4 (at least) long billed Dowitchers
Yellow Headed Blackbird
2 (at least) Eastern Meadowlarks
Many Redwinged blackbirds,
Just had a Scarlet Tanager (male) on our acreage here in SE O'Brien county.
Have never seen one here before! Only stayed for about five minutes, flitting
from the pasture fence onto the pasture and back. Last seen heading east to
Waterman Creek.
They have been present for the last two days in the sheep pasture area.
Seen tonight at 6 PM.

Another American Avocet was feeding just above L@D 14 as observed from the
Illinois side (campground)today around noon.
Over the weekend, I was pleased to find a female Summer Tanager,
Blackburnian and Wilson's Warblers at Loud Thunder Forest Preserve (Rock
Island Co. in Illinois).

Decided to relax with a little serious birding after the meeting. Trip was
very successful but absolutely miserable. Wind and dirt. Dirt and wind.
Try opening the wind to bird. Suck in dirt. Try walking to bird. Suck
in dirt. Dirt in the eyes! Dirt in the bins. etc.

eyeball-deep in crabapple blossoms around town, slurping up nectar. The
trees are peaking right now, and I saw the first snowstorm of petals
today. Before work, when it was still cool and wet, there were four TEWA
