skip clock expires (so I was told).
Is this skip clock concept described somewhere (manuals, papers ) ?

Hi Mark, thank you for your reply
I read it in redbook as well but as you said there's no 'direct' reference
to skip clock concept, only a generic delay (skip) as it was considered
useless to help that workload due to unattainable goals.

We tried APPC OFF as well, but didn't work. Slowdown occurs in the same
conditions depicted in other posts.
We're still workin on this issue.

Greetings listers
We're facin a problem we met after migration to z/OS 1.9. It's with SDSF.
After migration we saw that SDSF is slow in response, expecially in
displaying output classes. In some cases is VERY slow even if CPU is quite
far from 100%.
Did anyone encounter the same problem
.
Anyway is there any rule of thumb, having z/OS 1.7, for max central
storage ? I mean, is there a suggested value to avoid RSM overhead before
z/OS 1.8 (1 Gb ? 5, 10 or which value for central storage) ?
Thank you in advance

shop in some CICS we lowered our goals

Is still bad to put velocity goals higher than 80% ? In IMHO it is.

but the difference
between a goal of 90% and a goal of 70% was minimum for batch jobs and not

Ted,MArk, thank you for your replies.
The configuration I've in my mind is quite simple, no need (until now) to

Hi Ted
They're in 64-bit mode. What problems could they have with RSU specified
and equal to 32 ? I heard something dealing with memory below 16M.
So RSU = 0 is a mus from your reply...
