In 5 days i will be at the end of the evaluation
period of IMail.
I bought the soft, but the delay is a little bit
too long.
This means that all our mail accounts will be down
for almost one week.
Thank youfor your help.

We have some automated processes which collect mail from our IMail 6.03

Gabriel,
You can do 2 things:
1. At the end of the eval period, install the eval version again. 1st
install =45 days, 2nd install = 15 days. When your software arrives, just
install it.
2. Contact Ipsiwtch with your purchase info and once verified, they can give

Yeah, I'd seen that in between my first mail and your reply, both in MS

The info it gives still doesn't help me though because I don't know what a

Thanks
If i install it a second time, i'll have to configure it as it was before
(create accounts, virtual hosts) and i think i'll lose a lot of time.
If you know an easier way to continue using Imail without having to install
it a new time i think it would be better for me.

Tom is updating maillog. When I contacted him, he sent a beta, which
works fine. Report format is a little different than earlier version --
summary is usable as is; other reports can be imported into
spreadsheets, etc.

This is a weird thing that has happened to us a few times with IMail

morning I find that the root account is disabled. Anyone has any idea???

Just back everything up. Namely your user directories and your registry
keys. Then *if* you need to reconfigure everything all you need to do is
import these two things.

Gabriel,
Yes, as Mike said, a backup is always a good idea!
But installing IMail (eval or purchased) will not cause the configuration
you have, to be changed or lost. It just copies new files over the existing
ones. A clean install will create registry entries, but a second install
will not
By default, when a new domain is created, IMail creates the root user with
Account Access disabled. If the root account were deleted, I can (and have!)
see(n) IMail recreating it, using the defaults. But V6.04, IMail Admin won't

I am installing iMail 6.0 and having a problem getting the external
database set up.
Before installing, I created a database called iMail. I added a System
DSN called iMail.
When I went through the installation program, no tables where added to
this database. I don't see any SQL
Imail will create its own tables under the format domain_TLD (com,
net, org whatever). So domain.com would be a table domain_com,
domain.net would be a table domain_net
If you do not specify a database for imail to use it will create
the tables in the "master" database when using sql.
Thing is, the "x-" in x-sender signifies an untrustworthy header, so you're
sort of working against yourself...
x means experimental, if, not an Internet standard.
All headers are untrustable, and so have no value as identification
or authentification.

I tried to install again, making sure that the user that I was using for my
DSN had full permissions to the database. I still have an empty database,
no tables are created. Is there a way to force iMail to create the tables
that it needs with the appropriate structure?
Thanks for your help.

If you have it setup for external and you are trying to add a user

If there is no error, have you tried refreshing the database

If you leave that open relay open, you will be open to some very difficult
times. When I first started working with mail servers, we caught this every
now and again, but didn't worry about it. Until one day the spammers came
and our customers couldn't get their mail through.
