We all may also want to check ourselves as far as equipment goes. Ipswitch does
recommend certain server specs to run their product. Refer to Knowledge Base article
IM-19990610-DM04 to see how you are stacking up.

As far as equipment requirements go I have a dual p3 800 1 gb of ram and 120 gb

but it is more up in the 10,000 simutaneous

Can I call you for a little chat about these templates? It would really
help me out.

I'm guessing it's a made up term. I haven't heard of such a term in real life use.
My guess would be that they mean a mail server that has MX records pointing to
David,
Found this in the manual:
imail1 -r Use -r to add an Army Registered: header.
Been too long since I talked about this one, so cannot find or recall a lot
of details.
I don't know of IMail being 'registered' with any authority, except maybe
the Army.

HOSTS file is incorrect as it should also have this line:
127.0.0.1 localhost
And this one, too:
1.2.3.4 real_hostname
To run IMail with the OHN different from the real_hostname (found in TCPIP
settings, Host and Domain names), HOSTS file also needs:
1.2.3.4 name_used_as_OHN
Since yours does

This I'd like to see, a mail server that is not subject to a DOS attack. By
the very nature of mail servers they are all vulnerable. It's just a matter
of how vulnerable. Many of the preventive measures you can take do not take
place on your mail server. They take place at border routers and

Hi,
I have a situation where I have to email out a bunch of files to the
same email addresses every month. The content of the files change month
to month. Is there a way to automate:
1) create a new message with address and message
2) attach a file(s)
3) send to message

If I wanted to take a virtual domain and convert it to use a IP address do I
have to delete the domain and re-enter it or is there some way I can work around
it without deleting and adding an IP to it.
Stop smtp.
Using regedit, find the hklm/software/ipswitch key and replace the 2
occurances of $virtualxxx (where xxx is the number associated with your
domain) with the IP you want to use. Make sure the IP is already bound to
your tcpip/NIC.
Start smtp.
You should be in business...

iMail doesn't have any features like this, you'll need to write something
yourself. If you don't have any programmers on staff go down to the local
college and grab a script kiddie.

There are a couple of different things you may be lumping together here.
The first is a reverse DNS lookup. A reverse DNS lookup takes an IP address and

You would need a line in your rules.ima file like
S~FILENAME=*.EXE:ADMINHOLD or some other mailbox name to hold the messages.
Then you would need a forward file in each users directoy that would point
to the adminhold box on the domain.
If you do not have the forward file in place
