Hi everyone!
Need some help on this issue.
I have an Imail server who's name is imail.netpoint.com.br and has it's
reverse correctly created (200.246.181.7)
This server hosts several virtual domains.
One of these virtual domains has it's mx record created as
smtp.domain.com.br - 200.246.181.7
The problem is that when the servers connect to exchange mail, the fully
qualified name that appears on the connection is imail.netpoint.com.br
imail answers with the canonical mail hostname for the ip address
the best thing to do is to set the mx record of each
domain to imail.netpoint.com.br
Tks a lot Len.
Regards
Rudy

Good
morning,
It would seem that
our E-Mail server has a sense of humor today. One of my users sent an email to a
program alias that I set up to use the MAILALL program (path\MailAll.exe -h
domain.com) called 'Everyone'. For reasons I can not find a loop was
created.
I tested this weeks
I figured out what the problems was. When I fist setup the domains I
entered the dsn of the database and it pulled up the users. When I ran
into the problem, it wouldn't bring up a list of users. It took me about
20 minutes to realize that the database the dsn was pointing to didn't contain

If you want to use something easy and reliable try Simple DNS Plus from JH

will import your existing records from any dns server.

Since I set the No Relay option a few days ago in IMail a few users are reporting
some problems with authentication
They are using a SPAM bounce program called MailWasher
www.mailwasher.net
It had been working fine with the option set to Relay for Local Addresses
Now it throws an error
Mailwasher is acting as a mail client and must either do SMTP AUTH or be a
whitelisted address. Since you have set no relay (which is good), you
must require that all client connections do SMTP AUTH, including mailwasher.
Contact them and ask if they can do SMTP AUTH. Because they are acting
I just thought of another solution. You can setup Len Conrad's IMGate and
use POP before SMTP. This would then only require that they fetch POP email
(using SMTP AUTH from their mail client) before sending bounce messages with
mailwasher. And if they use Outlook for example, they can have it
Well,
I changed web server to be accessed from Internet over port 8383 and
this has stopped the code red attacks. But the email server is still
hanging the winsock (tcp/ip) stack every three days and requiring a
restart of email server:
20020331 042602 Info - 192.168.1.6 GET / HTTP/1.0.
One way to do it using just html is to use a fram and put your email inside
the fram so that the users see only the fame url,
not the web mail url. To open this in a new window just use the
target=windowname in the a href= tag.

Title: Read Reciepts in Outlook 2K
All,
I am using IMail(latest version w/ patches) with POP and SMTP(no IMAP) and Outlook 2K/XP clients.
When on user sends a message to another an automatic read reciept is requested. (that can be removed I know) The 2nd user accepts the message and

are we supposed to guess what your domain and subnet is?
ok, I'll guess:

Which DNS server are you using?
I've had great luck with http://www.dnsstuff.com
Is your DNS server registered?
Send me your IP and DNS privately and I'll take a look (if you like).

Adolph,
With IMail 6, webmail send problems are usually path-related. See this KB
article:
Eric,
What's the deal with the KB article re: SMTP32 IP binding? That
article indicates that this should be possible, albeit not by design.
Is the bind-to-IP feature broken?

Kirk,
Further to Sue's comment, you can only do harm by checking 'Refuse
NULLSenders' if your mail server is connected to the public
Internet. The Imail KB is far too forgiving on this point. Uncheck it
