I bet it's general on the firewall.
Len am sure u will laugh, it's solved now, I restarted again and it's
solved, its really annoying problem, does Imail server has any relation
to this problem?? . I don't think its firewall issue, because firewall
setup is not changed.
We have SunScreen firewall (sun Microsystems).

That's a certainly a common symptom not related to firewalls.

Felix,
I'm moving this topic OT. But I must say that I don't really know
exactly what you're asking for. Are you trying to come up with an
e-mail template that is parsed by a Program Alias? And if so, what
language are you writing the PA in? Is there another way you could

Hello Group,
Does anyone know if we can have our Imail server answer on 2 smtp
ports 25 and 2525 at the same time?

You will need to setup a port redirect program.

I support products from analog-x, but if you want a port redirector that
runs natively as a service, I have had a lot of success with GDataPipe

No, you redirect them to the same IP, but on a different port. Thus
the name port mapper.
I would suggest caution with the port mapping
You must make sure that the box you put the port mapper on is not allowed to
relay thru your IMail server, otherwise you have created an open relay.
Also make sure you have your clients set to use SMTP Auth.

Hey all,
what's the best way to go about switching imail servers so that no mail is
lost? We're planning on just changing the DNS, but while that propogates,
both servers will be getting mail. is there any way to consolidate this
mail afterwords? or is there a better way to do this?
thanks.
Rhett,
You can run GDataPipe on the same machine. That is the way I have it
configured.

is there any way to consolidate this mail afterwords?
Actually, yes: if you concatenate the .MBX files from each server on
the new server and delete the .UID file, the mailboxes will be
reindexed all-in-one. But note the human workload, the processor and
disk load for reindexing
