As far as I know, Declude Virus will work with all Trend Micro products
I have been using Declude products, include Virus for about 4 years and they
have made a big difference. With the flexibility and features of Declude
Virus, you can not only check all messages for viruses, but also for
vulnerabilities, as well as outright ban different attachments. It also has

I've had some bad experiences with pop-up blockers with my clients who use

messages from opening once a user is logged in. Since Microsoft will be
incorporating a pop-up blocker in SP2 I am concerned that it is going to

I don't remember where I read it.. but you can forget about collaboration
until next year.
Btw: If I recall correctly Ipswitch also talked about a new version of IM in
june or july and so far no news about it.

In case others run into questions from their
users. I've just heard from a customer that just switched to BellSouth
that BellSouthhas startedblocking port 25 traffic.
So, it's either switch to a different port for your
users, recommendation seems to be port 587,or tell them to use
Hello All,
I was wondering if someone could explain why a particular message is being
routed to the root-bulk mailbox.
I'm running IMail v8.05. The 'WhiteList' section contains the following:
@jetblue.com, @reply.jetblue.com, .jetblue.com', but for some reason the
message keeps being routed to
You need to whitelist the sending server...not the domain. And now it
keeps coming back because *you* are sending it and not in the whitelist

it doesn't take much for spammers to switch to 587 as well.
The most current concept of 587 is as an _authenticated_ submission
port. IMO, if you have the port open, you should be running AUTH

There is a reason why an RFC defined port 587 when port 25 already existed. :)
Port 25 is used for any SMTP connections -- from MUA (mail client) to MTA

By default, IMail v8's anti-spam sends spam to root-bulk.
I'm running IMail v8.05.
The catch with IMail v8.08 is that whitelists aren't really whitelists, but
instead cause an E-mail to
I was assuming that virus spammers might be able to use MAPI profiles to
send using the proper authentication.
If that's not the case, then why switch to 587? Let's just strongly
encourage everyone to use AUTH and keep from having to walk every user in
the world through switch their outgoing
Hi Scott,
Thanks for the clarifications. So you're saying 587 should not be used for
MUA - MTA traffic? So there's no need or intention for users to switch to
587 in the their mail client?
If we need to listen on both 25 and 587, does IMail support that? I haven't
seen anything that allowed
But, AFAIK, Imail can not be configured to accept/listen on port 25 for all
SMTP traffic AND accept/listen on port 587 for only authenticated traffic,
i.e. no relay.

Sorry, that should have been port 587 traffic is *only* used for MUA-MTA
traffic.

While a firewall can certiianly do port forwarding, that would not prevent
some one from using 587 if forwarded to 25 if relay settings were improperly
set.

Migrating to port 587 for AUTH doesn't really seem useful. Unless there is
an end goal of separating MTA - MTA traffic from MUA - MTA traffic, it
seems to me that SMTP AUTH should be used everywhere on port 25...no need to
move everything to a separate port except due to ISPs who choose to shut
Thanks Scott!
From the looks of things, I'm inclined to think it's a
temporary glitch, too.
If I can extract any more relevant info, I'll let you
know.
Thanks for all your help!

This doesn't have anything to do with IMail...it's your mail client software
that's doing it. HTML-formatted emails shouldn't have an issue, but text
emails that wrap may not be properly handled in many mail clients.
