Hi John,
That means you are an open relay, and are allowing spam through your server.
That's what I thought, hence the need to change.

Thank you all for your input. I am currently testing the Declude Product
which raises a question in my mind. Does anyone know what AV products out
there play well with others? I know McAfee wants me to remove all the other
AV products on the box before installing theirs and e-trust wants me to
I can't remember what is was I found that I didn't like with it on 2003.
Perhaps like you mentioned, maybe just because it said it wasn't supported?

Yea, I've had blackice running on 2003 server for about 6 months. It's
flawless. The folks at ICC (or whatever the company is) state that they don't
support it yet but they have run it and it runs fine. 2003 is not on their
supported list of OSs

During the upgrade process you will be asked if you want to update the
tables for any domain that runs an external db...This will add the columns
to each table needed. You can also skip this step during the upgrade and run
dbupdate from the command line after the install.

I'm not sure it's working flawlessly for me. After a period of time, the
application starts reporting the intruder address as 0.0.0.0 and the count

simply a GUI bug or not. It's bugging me regardless.

You can set it to the highest setting, and go into the advanced setting and
open ports, SMPT 25, POP 110, Web Mail Port 8383, and Calendaring Port 8484,
then it will work on the highest settings. I especially closed the normally
attacked ports, in fact I think I closed everything then allowed only
You also may want to open up your web calendaring port as well, then close
everything thing else that you are not using. I set ours to paranoid, or
whatever is the highest most secure setting.
I am curious, did you get the server version or the regular version?

There are 2 SMD file for every message, if one is deleted somehow and the

this will happen.

What version of IMail are you running? These are messages the queue manager
is having trouble with. We need those files and the log sent to support so
we can see why it's blown up...If you are not running v 8.14then you need to
upgrade before trying to send those in tho...

I need another Imail unlimited license now but we plan on switching to
SmarterMail once they add ODBC support. (which may be at least 3-6
months).
Anyone who has already switched have an unused Imail unlimited license
they're willing to sell (at a reasonable price ;-).
Please email off-list.

No, the kill file is only for e-mail addresses and the domain part of e-mail
addresses. IP addresses go into a different file.
