Seems to be a proxy that only allows emails in from your white list - everything else is blocked, or, more specifically, sends out an email to them to authenticate themselves and, if you approve them, then you get the message (and they are added to your whitelist). I didn't know this

yeah... but that's precisely the point. The IP shown in the email file header is NOT in the same domain as the server 208.x.y.z that IMail is trying to communicate with. It's something like 69.aaa..; a totally different Class A. Not only that, but the emails come from a bunch of

You missed the point. The IP it is coming from could be anything, especially if it is spam. In fact, if it is spam, it will not be coming from a valid IP for the domain since it is coming through either an open relay or a bot. It does not matter. Just because the headers say the email is from
