We have built a webmail application, built on Ipswitch Imail server and
EasyMail mail components, the problem is that whenever a user sends a
mail to a mail address that doesn not exist, he/she doesnt get a
bounce-mail back saying xxx was undeliverable
anyone know how you set it up?

I am having similar issues
My IMail is set so that the check mark is NOT there on Refuse NULL Senders
I send an email to:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
and I DON'T get a bounce back
Could it be that Hotmail does not send bounces???

Normally, IMail should generate the bounce message. If you check your
logs, you should see a RCPT TO: [EMAIL PROTECTED] line, and
then a 550 No such user or similar
Hotmail gives me a 250
No bounce comes back
I guess there is no way round this
So they have the equivalent of a nobody user set up?

Hotmail gives me a 250
which is a postive response, RFC 821:
4.2.1. REPLY CODES BY FUNCTION GROUPS
250 Requested mail action okay, completed
