We are in a similar boat, and are evaluating SmarterMail. We too use
Declude and Sniffer.
To be honest I'm not too caught up to speed on the features of the
latest Imail version. Lately our 8.2 box has been getting hit with spam
attacks so some of SmarterMail's built in features attracted our

We did the upgrade and moved to a different box at the same time
We moved to a dual intel pentium pro 2.8 box with 2 gig memory.
I have seen no difference in POP or IMAP performance. The Webmail side
