Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] Imail7 MX
I know, I was trying to be brief.
I have:
mydomain.com. MX 10 mail.mydomain.com.
mydomain.com. A 1.2.3.4
www.mydomain.com A 1.2.3.4
I have:
mydomain.com. MX 10 mail.mydomain.com.
mydomain.com. A 1.2.3.4
www.mydomain.com A 1.2.3.4
mail.mydomain.com. A 1.2.3.6
even though 1.2.3.6 is up and running, V7.02 is not even trying
1.2.3.6
before trying 1.2.3.4
This is a serious problem, I hope Ipswitch support can address this
That is normal, because there is no telnet or smtp server on 208.154.200.4
oh
The question was: why is Imail702 trying to send to 208.154.200.4 and not
to mail.cefib.com 208.154.200.6 ???
Imail tries to send to MX records. One of those NS´s is passing out that
ip as an MX host´s A records,
Len,
In case easydns.com aren't able to connect to by primary, do you no of other company

MX records need a host name, not an IP address.
