correct myself...it doesn't stop, it HANGS. 'stop pending' I had to
write a script to pre-empt the hang and restart the service. I searched

noticed this can sometimes happen if you have virus scanning enabled and a user
has previously sent out a message (or messages) with large attachments. It
usually goes away in a fewminutes.
