As far as I understand it, this is a race condition inside PyQt5 related to the

Huh, works for me with Fedora 34, with all KDE stuff built from source on top
of it. Clicking on the checkbox show an auth prompt, but after I enter my
password, the checkbox is checked or unchecked as expected.
