My theme is Breeze Dark. It is the standard package, not a fork. It is

FYI I stopped using the breeze theme for sddm. (I switched to sugar-dark.)

1. I did further testing on two desktop computers. I used the same
user-places.xbel file on both. (Copying the file from one computer to the other

The above steps eliminate the slowness. That also eliminates all my Places
bookmarks, so it is not a solution
