A QML snippet Joshua gave me is fine:

Turned on all debug in kdebugsettings but no extra information was relevant

Can you check if there's any other qtwebview-using applications that work? I
would try it with pmOS myself but it will have to wait until the weekend. We
aren't doing anything super special with WebView ourselves,
