            Bug ID: 455062
Summary: PotD: Setting a provider on multi-monitor sets all of
                    them to the same one
           Product: kdeplasma-addons
           Version: git-master
          Platform: Gentoo Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Picture of the Day
          Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
          Reporter: 1i5t5.dun...@cox.net
                CC: i...@guoyunhe.me, qydwhotm...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

This is on git-master frameworks/plasma using the gentoo/kde live-git ebuilds,
on qt 5.15.4. Current kdeplasma-addons commit
f3db2b5c84c7e1a7aa1f8f2bef32a8b8ecbf34b0 . I'm running on wayland without X
(other than xwayland) installed. (Tho I do have weston installed as a wayland
compositor backup; I /am/ running live-git kwin/kde, after all.)

Since the PotD rework in April/May, my dual-monitor (side-by-side) layout
cannot setup different PotDs for each monitor. Setting one will either set
both to the same PotD provider or do nothing. ( As best I've been able to work
out, setting it to PotD from image on one monitor will set it on both, after
which I cannot set it to another PotD on the other -- but setting it to a
different PotD on the first will reset it to that one on both. However, I'm
not /entirely/ sure that's the specific behavior, while I /am/ sure I can't set
different ones on each, sometimes it ignores the setting, sometimes it resets
both.)

Despite not being able to set different PotD providers on each monitor, the
positioning settings remain distinct -- I can set one to scaled while the other
is set to scaled-and-cropped, for instance, and that is honored.

Further, I can still set (local) image (and presumably the other non-PotD
choices) separately, both to separate images, and with both set to (the same)
PotD, I can set either one to an image. I just can't set different PotD
providers on each one.

The result is that if I want different images on each monitor with a PotD, I
must choose a single PotD first and set it, then change the other to a (local)
image.

(And while you are looking at this PotD bug, could you see about the
long-standing broken-PotD-centering-option bug #389623 as well. It has existed
since at least 2018 as that's when the bug was filed.)
