Suspend is not the issue. It works fine from the leave menu. The issue is the
widget being unable to display the popup dialog asking if you are sure you want
to suspend or hibernate.

Well, systemd is actually the component that is responsible for the suspend
operation. I suggest to ask in a forum of your distribution if the issue is
known, and if not, report it to the bug

How do I launch this plasmoid from the command line so I can capture any errors
