I'll investigate the combo box option. Not sure whether the same quicksearch
as in kmail (comment #5) is appropriate, as what the address book really needs
is a filter rather than a search.

On openSUSE 13.1 with KDE4.13 this bug is also still present. The attachment
icon is shown for new mails but as soon as the mail is marked as read or moved
to another folder the icon

it seems a bit anachronistic to me, for akonadi to only work properly if the
mailserver still supports SSLv2.
